Qadaruddin Shishir is a Dhaka-based investigative journalist and OSINT trainer with more than fifteen years across South Asian newsrooms. He currently serves as editor at The Dissent, an independent investigative outlet focused on systemic accountability.
Previously he led fact-checking desks at AFP and BOOM Bangladesh, and co-founded BD FactCheck — one of Bangladesh’s first dedicated verification initiatives. His reporting centres on digital forensics, communal rumours, election disinformation and the infrastructure of coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
He trains reporters, editors and civil society organisations across the region on OSINT methods and verification workflows, and is an alumnus of the U.S. State Department’s IVLP program and ANFREL fellowships.
